Current volunteering roles and projects for Cavernoma Scotland ☺️ xx
CaverArt – An ongoing sale of donated art work that is displayed amongst many beautiful paintings, created by the extremely talented Campbell Hunter at CHAIN ART, studio gallery, situated in Beauly, Highlands.
All funds from sales will be deposited in Cavernoma Scotland’s account for the sole purpose of Neurology reaserch within Scotland.
CaverCoordinator for fundraising – Distributes, promotes and advertises upcoming events arranged by Cavernoma Scotland.
SILENT NO MORE – The continuous and inspirational campaign to give the public confidence and a voice regarding their health conditions.
SNM Includes many others who have neurological issues such as Mental Health! that lack any or receive a poor quality of help and support.
CaverLections – A project for the distribution of Cavernoma Scotlands collection jar /tins Note : permission from the owner /manager is vital before displaying a Cavernoma Scotland collection jar /tin, within their premises.
CaverLector – The monitoring and collection of available funds that are donated in the form of collection jars /tins. On a regular basis but at a time that is suitable for the volunteers of this role.
CaverCare – A support network of support for people who struggle with health issues, hidden disabilities and mental health on a daily basis. A system in which a person can ask questions by either interacting with others on our page publicly or privately with myself through Messenger, face to face (depending on your location), email or phone contact.
Please note that I’m not a health professional and I can only provide answers based on my own experiences, health and knowledge that I have learnt within the 6 years of having the brain Condition called Cavernoma.
Brains get sick too – A project that premotes the raising of awareness for not only Cavernoma but for a whole array of neurological and mental health issues.
Communications coordinator – seeks contacts either by directly, phone or email for myself to collaborate/participate /support with other groups /organisations /charities for the purpose of fundraising and lectures.
CAVS Web Manager – A online Computer Genius who overseas the content, uploading and development of Cavernoma Scotlands Website. (position taken)
Hidden Disability Publicaware – A project to provide as many posters to public areas such as transport services and retailers xx Not just by displaying posters on their premises but also for employees to be aware and give consideration that a person’s needs, who on face value have no identifiable indications.
Various projects are also underway but airports for example… The UK 🇬🇧 has 40 commercial airports with only 29 agreeing to the disability lanyard system!
Let’s get all 40 to have at least one A4 Hidden Disability Awareness Poster.
CaverCarer – A one on one support system where an individual can speak to another other than myself about similar experiences and health issues! some training will be required.
Cavernoma Leaflet distributor – The volunteer will spread awareness by handing out leaflets/flyers within their own community to the public and venues such as shops, surgeries, colleges etc. Leaflets can be provided to you by mail or picked up at any of the Cavernoma Scotland events.
CaverPorter – Assists with giving transport to volunteers, equipment and materials needed for events.
CAVS entertainment assistant/s- Helps to provide music/ entertainment /venues, for fundraising events that requires this service for the best price possible.
Note I welcome events that have been made on behalf of Cavernoma Scotland with or without my presence.
Media Coordinator – The running of a social Media platforms such as Instagram, Snapchat, WhatsApp that are yet to have an account set up.
Some positions can have multiple volunteers where as other roles may be just for one participant.
Also you can volunteer for more than one position.
Any role does not require a contract and you can choose how much time you wish to be involved with volunteering. I appreciate any time you can spare and I’m very grateful for all the support you have provided..
